About Us

Brewery 288 is a local microbrewery specialising in traditional real ales.

Our beer is bottle-conditioned, unpasteurised, unfiltered and is not artificially carbonated - it's a live product which contains yeast for a slow secondary fermentation in the bottle (expect sediment).

This process provides the wonderful fresh flavours and natural creamy head.

The brewery is located at Heath End in West Sussex - in the South Downs National Park.

Please note we are not open to the public for direct beer sales.

We will be at local farmer's markets and offer free local deliveries and national delivery by courier. See here for local farmer's markets.

Key influences include the Goose and Firkin brewery in Borough Road and the Little Creatures Brewery in Fremantle.

Enjoying a fresh, well-balanced beer is still a great British tradition..

..one to be cherished and maintained.

Brewery 288 is committed to producing the best beers we can

- we brew what we like and hope you do too.

We strive to be a low-jargon zone - we understand the fundamentals and apply enough science to deliver the best quality products without the jargon of trend-led influences, or even worse; infuencers.

We operate as sustainable a business as we can and our aim is for carbon- and water-neutral operations.

We have worked hard to establish our business, it's been 20 years in the making; we hope to join you for a drink very soon.

The name? Simple, there are 288 pints in a brewer’s barrel.
